The short version

  • Your confirmation email is your booking. Bring it, or the name it's under.
  • Hourly bookings are refundable up to 24 hours before your start time. Inside 24 hours there is no refund.
  • Party and corporate packages are fixed once booked. You choose the hours when you book. After that: no moving, no added hours, and never a refund. You may cancel to free the lane, but no money comes back.
  • Any booking can be moved once. Once you are inside that notice window nothing changes online, call us and we'll do what we can.
  • Bar service is 19+. No alcohol on the lanes. No outside food or drink, a birthday cake is the exception.
  • Bowling shoes are required on the lanes, and bowling is a physical activity, play within your limits.

The full terms below are what actually govern, this box is a summary, not a substitute.

01About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and King Pins Bowl ("King Pins", "we", "us"), which operates the venue at P200 – 1312 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, British Columbia, and the website at kingpinsbowl.ca.

They apply when you book with us, visit us, or use this website. By making a booking or entering the venue you accept them. If you're booking on behalf of a group, you accept them for everyone in your party and you're responsible for making sure they know the house rules in section 12.

How we handle your personal information is set out separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

02Who can book

You must be 19 or older to make a booking, and the person who books is responsible for the party and for the bill. Guests of any age are welcome on the lanes; alcohol service is a separate matter and is covered in section 12.

03Making a booking

A booking is confirmed when we send you a confirmation email, not when you submit the form, and not when a payment page opens. If that email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your junk folder and then call us; assume you don't have a booking until you've seen it.

  • We hold your lane or table for the time slot you booked. That time starts when you booked it, not when you arrive.
  • We assign the specific lane or table, and may move a booking to a different one of the same type if we need to. You're booking the game, not a numbered lane.
  • Lane capacity is limited and shown at the time of booking. Groups larger than one lane's capacity need more than one lane.
  • Please arrive about ten minutes early to check in and sort out shoes.

Walk-ins are always welcome when there's space, but only a booking guarantees you a lane.

04Prices, taxes and extras

The prices that apply are the ones displayed on this website at the time you book, or on the menu and price list in the venue. Rates differ by activity and by day of the week, and the rate you're paying is shown before you confirm.

  • All prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes (GST and, where it applies, PST) are added and shown before payment.
  • Bowling shoe rental is charged separately at the front desk for hourly bookings, at the rate posted at the desk. Party and corporate packages include shoes for the whole group.
  • Food, drinks and any add-ons ordered on the day are charged on the day.
  • Discounts, memberships, senior rates, promotions, apply on the terms published for them and generally can't be combined with each other or with a voucher.

We can change our prices at any time, but never for a booking you've already confirmed and paid for.

05Payment

Online payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form and are never received or stored by us. You are confirming that you're authorised to use the card you present.

Party and corporate packages are paid in full at the time of booking. Where an hourly booking is not prepaid, the balance is settled at the venue, along with anything ordered on the day.

If a payment is declined, reversed, or charged back without cause, we may cancel the booking and recover what's owed. Receipts and confirmations are sent by email, check that the address you gave us is right.

06Changing or cancelling

Refunds, moves and changes

Hourly bookings can be cancelled for a refund up to 24 hours before the start time. Inside 24 hours there is no refund. Party and corporate packages are non-refundable at any point.

Where a refund is due, a manager puts it back to the card it came from, which usually lands within a few working days. Cancelling always releases the lane straight away, whether or not money follows.

Hourly bookings can be moved once to another available time, or have hours added, provided you tell us at least 24 hours before the start. Inside that window nothing can be changed online.

Party and corporate packages are fixed once booked. The number of hours is chosen at the time of booking and cannot be changed afterwards, the booking cannot be moved to another time, and no refund is given. You may cancel a package at any point before it starts, which releases the party lane, but no money is returned. Call us on (778) 340-8880 if something has gone wrong and we'll do whatever we reasonably can.

Use the "manage booking" link in your confirmation email to move a booking, or call us. Points worth knowing:

  • The move is one move, after that, the new time stands.
  • A move is subject to availability at the new time. We can't hold a slot that's already taken.
  • If you move into a time slot that costs more, the difference is payable; if you move into a cheaper one, we don't refund the difference.
  • Shortening a booking does not reduce what you paid. Adding hours costs the difference, but dropping them returns nothing, on hourly bookings and packages alike. If you want fewer hours and your money back, cancel instead, where the rules above apply.
  • Cancelling always releases the lane back to other guests straight away. Whether it also returns your money depends on the two rules above.
  • Party and corporate packages: fixed once booked. Not movable, not extendable, not refundable. Cancelling releases the lane and returns nothing.

None of this limits any right to a remedy you have under British Columbia consumer protection law where we've failed to provide what you paid for.

07Arriving late, and no-shows

Your lane is held for the slot you booked, and the clock runs from your booked start time. If you're running late, call us, we'll hold the lane where we can, but arriving late doesn't extend your session, because the next group is booked in behind you.

If nobody from your party has arrived 15 minutes after the start time and we haven't heard from you, we may release the lane to waiting guests. A no-show is treated as a cancellation and is not refunded.

08When we have to cancel

Occasionally we have to cancel, equipment failure, a power or water outage, a safety issue, a public-health order, or anything else genuinely outside our control. When that happens we'll contact you as early as we can and offer you the choice of moving to another time or a full refund of what you paid us for the affected booking.

That refund is the limit of what we owe in those circumstances. We aren't responsible for costs you incurred around the booking, travel, a cake, time off work.

We may also cancel a booking, without refund, if it's made fraudulently, if a guest has previously been removed from the venue, or if the booking breaches these terms.

09Vouchers and promo codes

  • Vouchers and promo codes are valid only for what they say, only until they expire, and only while we have availability.
  • One voucher or promo code per booking, and they can't be combined with other discounts unless we say so in writing.
  • They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash, and aren't replaced if lost or stolen.
  • Vouchers bought from a third party such as Groupon are also governed by that company's terms, including its own refund policy and expiry rules, which we don't control. Take a refund request for an unredeemed voucher to the company you bought it from.
  • We may decline a voucher that has already been redeemed, has been altered, or was not obtained legitimately.

10Memberships

Membership benefits, rates and any restricted hours are as published on the website at the time you join. Memberships are personal to you and can't be shared or transferred. We may change the benefits with reasonable notice; if a change materially reduces what you signed up for, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused portion.

11Parties and private events

An enquiry form is not a booking. Private events, floor buyouts and large groups are confirmed by a written quote or event agreement from us, and where that agreement says something different from these terms, the event agreement wins.

  • Package inclusions, lanes, time, food, drinks, shoes, setup, are as listed for the package you booked. Substitutions may be necessary and will be of equivalent value.
  • Final guest numbers and any catering choices are needed by the date we give you. After that, the number you confirmed is the number you're charged for.
  • Deposits for private events are non-refundable unless the event agreement says otherwise.
  • You're responsible for the conduct of your guests and for any damage they cause beyond ordinary wear.

12House rules

These keep the floor safe and the night good for everyone. Staff can enforce them, and can ask anyone not following them to leave.

  • Bar service is 19+. We card, and we'll refuse service without valid government-issued photo ID.
  • No alcohol on the lanes. Drinks stay at the bar or in your booth.
  • We won't serve anyone who is intoxicated, and we may refuse service or entry, that's not just our policy, it's a condition of our liquor licence.
  • No outside food or drink. A birthday cake is the one exception, and it's always welcome.
  • Bowling shoes are required on the lanes. No street shoes, no bare feet, no socks alone.
  • Stay behind the foul line, one bowler at a time, and never step onto the lane surface or into the pin area. If something jams, don't fix it yourself, call staff.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult in their party at all times.
  • Treat the equipment, the furniture and the people around you decently. Aggressive, abusive or unsafe behaviour ends the visit.
  • We can refuse entry, end a session or remove a guest for breaching these rules, and no refund is due when we do.

13Safety and your responsibility

Bowling, pool and snooker are physical activities. Balls are heavy, approaches are deliberately slippery, and cues and equipment can cause injury if they're mishandled. There is an inherent risk of injury in taking part, and by playing you accept that risk for yourself and for the guests in your party.

Please play within your own physical limits, use equipment suited to your strength, follow staff instructions and posted safety notices, and tell staff immediately about a spill, a hazard or an injury.

You're responsible for loss or damage you or your party cause to the venue, equipment or another guest's property, beyond ordinary wear and tear.

14Our liability

We take the safety of the venue seriously and we're responsible for running it with reasonable care.

Subject to the paragraph below, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity or enjoyment; and our total liability arising out of any booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under British Columbia or Canadian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under consumer protection legislation.

15Lost property

Bring it in, take it home. We don't accept responsibility for personal property brought into the venue, including items left in a booth, a locker or the parkade. Anything handed in is kept for 30 days and then donated or disposed of.

16Photography and filming

We photograph and film in the venue for our website and social media, and the premises are under video surveillance for safety and security. If you'd rather not appear in a photo, tell any staff member and we'll keep you out of it. See the Privacy Policy for how that footage and those images are handled.

Filming or photography by guests for commercial purposes needs our written permission first.

17Using this website

The design, text, photography, artwork and code on this site belong to King Pins or our licensors. You're welcome to browse, book and share links. You may not copy or reuse our content commercially, scrape the site, resell our inventory, or attempt to interfere with the site's operation or security.

Staff areas of the site are for authorised staff accounts only.

18Accuracy and availability

We work hard to keep prices, hours, availability and menus accurate, but errors happen. If an obvious pricing or availability error affects a booking, we'll contact you and offer to honour the correct price or cancel and refund you in full, we won't quietly charge you a different amount.

Opening hours can change for holidays, private events or maintenance. We don't guarantee that the website is available uninterrupted or error-free.

19Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you made it, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use the site or the venue after a change means you accept the updated terms.

20Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
